Betty & Maurice Tate welcomes you to our web site.  For over 28 years the Sunset Motel has been providing lodging and mini storage accommodations to outdoor enthusiasts. Sunset Motel is conveniently located in downtown Watersmeet Michigan on the intersection of U.S. Highway 2 and 45 in the Ottawa Forest.

A gas station and restaurants are adjacent to our motel for easy snowmobile and boat fill-ups or dining with out driving. Our large parking lot handles trailer rigs with ease. You can snowmobile right to your front door or park your boat trailer by your room.

Sunset Motel also offers a secured mini storage facility on the property with 56 units. Now you can store your boat, snowmobile, atv, or personal watercraft with us.

The units range from 5ft to 10ft in width and up to 40ft in length. The building has a paved parking area to allow you easy access to your unit.

Sunset Motel is conveniently located at U.S. Highways 2 and 45 in Watersmeet (just minutes away from Land O'Lakes, WI) in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  Watersmeet offers a four season new experience for the outdoor enthusiast.

Whether it be fishing (lake, stream or ice), sightseeing, hiking, canoeing or kayaking (lake or river), snowmobiling (right from your door), cross-country skiing (one mile from the motel), downhill skiing, hunting, or photography.

We are in the Ottawa National Forest and invite you to enjoy our vibrant autumn colors, breathtaking waterfalls, and abundant wildlife and many species of birds. You will want to bring your camera to capture the beauty!
